WHAT IS IT?
The New Home Certification incentive is paid to members who build a new home that meets specific guidelines for thermal and performance standards. Homes built to these standards provide the homeowner with lower energy costs, healthier indoor air quality, improved building durability and increased market value. Energy efficiency is a great place to start when designing and building a new home!
Homes built and certified at the Focus on Energy New Homes Program, level 2 or greater standards, will qualify for this incentive. Level 2 homes are certified to be 20-20.9% more efficient than a home that is merely built to code. A home certified at this standard would also be eligible for any incentives offered directly through the Focus on Energy program.
