FEDERATED YOUTH FOUNDATION
One way Eau Claire Energy Cooperative demonstrates the Cooperative Principles and carries out its mission is through our scholarship program. The Cooperative Principles often referred to with our scholarship program are Cooperative Principle 5 – Education, Training, and Information and Cooperative Principle 7 – Concern for Community.
Each year, ECEC may award up to $19,000 in higher education scholarships to students of member families through the Federated Youth Foundation scholarship program. There are Sixteen $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students attending area high schools with two $1,000 scholarships awarded to students attending area post-secondary institutions. In addition, ECEC annually provides one $1,000 scholarship to CVTC for a student in its Electrical Distribution Program.
These scholarships are funded by forfeited capital credits and placed into an account held in trust by Federated Youth Foundation. These funds have no impact on members’ bills.

QUALIFICATIONS
The applying student must fit the following criteria to qualify for a scholarship
1.
Student’s family must be a member of Eau Claire Energy Cooperative and currently receive energy service at their residence.2.
The scholarships should be awarded to qualifying students who would not otherwise receive scholarships from other sources.3.
The student must display average or above average academic records.4.
Student shows potential to continue achievement in a post-secondary public or private college, university junior college or vocational school program.2023 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
